So, Where to begin?

I have just taken the day out of doing much more important things (such as tracking the vocals for the cd) in order to completely overhaul the aging web-site. I felt this was an appropriate time to do so; especially after all the new found technical know-how I have gained from the land of university (You never know when tweaking php scripts may come in useful). But regardless, I'm sure the vast majority of you aren't going to be interested in the reasons why it has taken me two days to install and configure this site; and needless to say, it is still far from completed. The new site has already got a lot of new useful features which I shall illustrate to help ease the process of adapting.

  • New System

    • The new site is using a customised version of the joomla! CMS system for managing the content of the site; I shan't go into the specifics of just how much easier it is to use, but let me just say that typing a document is easier than re-coding several pages.

  • RSS Feeds

    • Are now implemented on several areas of the web-site, allowing any tech-savvy members of the cult to easily track any updates on the site, my blog, or the forums.

  • Integrated Login / Profile System

    • A major problem with the previous site was needing to know several logins / passwords; however, now all areas of the site share one common login page with keeps you logged in sitewise.

  • New Forums

    • This login system extends to the new forums, which aren't quite as feature-packed as the previous ones; but are more secure (and carry all the needed features).

  • New Private Messaging System

    •  Again, using the profile system; but easily more useful than last time.

  • Commenting system on ALL posts

    • Including blog entries (take a little looksie below this post, care to post a comment confirming my nerdyness?)

And many more besides.... I will refrain from mentioning anymore features; but take it from me, this site will be a lot easier to update and navigate (as well as allowing y'all to add content=])
